Applegate^® WOOD-LOK is packaged in 50lb bags and is a natural wood fiber mulch for use in hydraulic planting. It is a high quality wood hydroseeding mulch manufactured under constant production control checks. WOOD-LOK fiber is consistent in size and texture for the most optimum performance. WOOD-LOK is thermo-mechanically defibrated, dyed, dried, and packaged. Applegate’s Premium Wood Fiber Mulch meets or exceeds specifications and standards typical for Wood Fiber Mulch and is NOT manufactured from excelsior, sawdust or anything but fresh whole wood chips.

When applied WOOD-LOK fibers tend to twist and lock with each other as they dry. This forms a protective mulch mat which aids in erosion control, holding the seeds in place, and providing a microclimate to aid seed germination. After the seedlings have grown to sufficient size they will protect the soil surface and greatly reduce erosion and soil loss, while the WOOD-LOK fibers decompose.

WOOD-LOK is designed for use, from fast loading in hydroseeding equipment with easy to handle plastic bags. The fibers are sized for maximum loading in a tank, as well as for generating a homogeneous slurry of water, seed and fertilizer. 

For application, WOOD-LOK fibers remain in suspension during agitation and pumping, and the slurry does not dewater when doing hose work. WOOD-LOK's green color makes the mixed slurry visible during application, even at maximum pumping distances. Allowing the operator to apply an even application of material. Caution should be used when spraying near concrete or buildings to prevent overspray from temporarily staining these items.

APPLICATION 
Recommended minimum application:
1,800 pounds per acre on flat to 5H:1V slopes. 
 
Green dye is added to help the applicator maintain uniform coverage during application.
