Introduction to Applegate's Bonded Fiber Matrix hydromulch, 50lbs bales. It is the superior hydromulch for erosion control.
Applegate® WOOD-LOK BFM Bonded Fiber Matrix, 50lbs. Bale
Applegate® WOOD-LOK BFM consists of long strands of virgin wood fibers with the extra holding power of a high strength, nontoxic, hydrocolloid-based binder. The system sprays on like a mulch and forms a blanket that adheres to the soil. When dry, the bonded fiber matrix mat is porous, erosion resistant and protects the soil surface. The matrix retains its form and soil protection despite rewetting.
When applied over soil, the wood fibers tend to twist and lock with each other and the soil as they dry. With the binder, the holding power of the fiber to the soil is much stronger, thus providing increased erosion protection. Applegate® WOOD-LOK BFM is 100% biodegradable and is nontoxic to fish and wildlife.
ADVANTAGES
• Stronger bonding of the fibers to the soil. Increased erosion protection • Does not dissolve or disperse when rewetted • Premixed blended binder disperses into slurry quickly for fast hydration • Has no germination or growth inhibiting factors • High temperature steam processing sterilizes the fiber • Additive binder is homogeneously mixed with the fiber, everything is in the bag
Applegate® WOOD-LOK BFM is fast to load in hydroseeding equipment from easy to handle plastic bags. The fibers are sized for maximum loading in a tank, making an homogeneous slurry of water, seed and fertilizer. The fibers remain in suspension during agitation and pumping, and the slurry does not dewater when doing hose work.
The green color allows the operator to apply an even application of material over the soil. The green dye added to the fiber during manufacture is nontoxic.
PRODUCT FEATURES
• Made from selected, fresh cut, clean, whole wood chips. • Fiber stays in uniform suspension and blends with seed and fertilizer. • Goes into slurry quickly. • Forms stable erosion control mat. • Provides favorable microclimate for seed germination. • Green dye assists in even application. • Dye is nontoxic. WOOD-LOK BFM has no growth inhibiting factors. • Fibers decompose after plants have established.
PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS
Applegate® WOOD-LOK BFM is manufactured to specific fiber sizes in a heat controlled environment to provide best job site performance. Fibrils and fiber bundles have physical features that tend to intertwine with each other forming a more protective blanket.
